Our client, a prestigious and dynamic engineering company based in the Midlands are seeking an Area Sales Manager to join their tenacious Sales Team. This field based role requires a driven, highly motivated and customer focused individual to ensure sales targets are excelled. Excellent benefits with an uncapped commission structure.

The Role;

  • Attend sales and service meetings across the South West to secure new business and repeat business
  • Gain a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements
  • Responsible for closing opportunities through price, terms, delivery, specifications and solution fit negotiation
  • Actively network with complimentary partners to gain more business
  • Gain a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements
  • Understand the specifications you present in the quotes and MTO’s, presenting the features and benefits of these specifications to your customers
  • Ensure working to set KPI’s as per the Commercial Managers request, self measuring, and recording onto the internal CRM
  • Monitor pipeline and territory coverage, increasing opportunities
  • Ensuring that sales targets are achieved or surpassed. Allowing for the necessary corrective actions to be taken when required. While reviewing your own performance
  • Demonstrate and maintain an up to date knowledge of the market in your area. Including identifying trends and creating action plans to act on them. As well as reporting these back to management
  • Data maintenance of Salesforce ensuring metrics, sales opportunities and forecasts are up to date. Manage and control an active diary showing forward planning in Salesforce.
  • Take part in the rolling forecast of opportunities on monthly basis
  • Participate in regular training to enhance your technical knowledge of the products, and sales techniques
  • When requested, represent the organisation at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
  • Create, develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing customers

  • Tenacious with the ability to negotiate and convert business
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to engage an audience
  • Proficient in all Microsoft packages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group
  • Competitive and driven to continuously improve
  • Would be advantageous to have worked in a wood processing sector, however not essential
  • Previous exposure to Salesforce system an advantage but not essential
