Our client, a prestigious Precision Engineering company based in the heart of Leicestershire is seeking a Technical Sales Representative to join their established team. The successful candidate will enhance the company’s client base, account manage and deliver an exceptional service. This is an exciting opportunity, which will involve networking and meeting prospective clients at their premises to discuss the company’s services and products offered.

The Role;

  • To assist in increasing the company’s turnover and profitability, by managing customer accounts
  • Generating quotations for existing and new customer enquiries
  • Communicate with the Sales & Marketing department to establish leads and build knowledge of sectors and companies within those sectors to enable efficient use of time spent on the road.
  • Communicating with customers and suppliers to understand the requirements needed
  • Lead in the planning and organisation of exhibitions/events the company has budgeted for during each year.
  • Passing on own knowledge to other members of the team to help up-skill and overall create a stronger company
  • Actively participate in the ‘Feasibility Meeting’ to determine if the customer requirements can be achieved
  • Develop and maintain effective two-way communications with employees and cultivate a “can-do” attitude.
  • To chair the ‘Contract Review’ and communicate with other departments to ensure the customer requirements have been understood and can be met, then relaying any information back to the customer.
  • Reporting on business status (e.g. companies visited, number of quotations received, submitted and won, value of orders won other specified KPI’s etc.), and submitting a monthly report to Managing Director(s) in preparation for the monthly Senior Management (SMT) meeting

Our Ideal Candidate;

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships with current and prospective clients
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
  • Ability to produce CNC programs both on and offline
  • Proficient in all Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Good understanding of One CNC and AutoCAD
  • Sound knowledge in the use of CAD CAM software in order to produce machine programs, quotation times and stage/op drawings.
  • Experience in the use of Access and Factory Master would be advantageous
