Our client a leading engineering company based in the Midlands are seeking an experienced Sheet Metal Worker/Welder to join their established engineering department.

Please note this is a temporary assignment however there is an opportunity of the role becoming permanent!

The Sheet Metal Worker/Welder Role;

• Carryout TIG Welding on various materials from aluminium, steel to titanium in order to create components
• Produce parts of a right first-time basis
• Dressing of welds, finishing and deburr using various hand and machine tools
• Working to tight tolerances and ensuring meeting the customer’s specification(s)
• Adapt new working methodologies and lean process
• Highlight and record non-conformances, ensuring the Department Manager is made aware

Our Ideal Sheet Metal Worker/Welder Candidate;

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Ability to use hand held measurement equipment including height gauges and Vernier’s
• Experience of welding thin gauge material from 0.35mm to 2mm
• Experience of welding within an aerospace  field is essential
• Understanding of industry standards (NADCAP and AS9100)
• Attentive with a good level of attention to detail
