Job Title: Transport Coordinator

Salary: £25,000 to £30,000 per annum plus benefits

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday – Days

Location: Grantham


Our client is a leading supplier of agricultural foodstuffs and supply some of the biggest and most well-known British food and drink brands are seeking a Transport Coordinator. This is a key appointment reporting directly to the Operations Manager.

The Role:

  • Working closely with the fleet team to allocate haulage and ensure the fleet and 3rd party haulage contracts are fully utilised to deliver maximum efficiency and ensure all planned deliveries are completed
  • Managing key relationships to support carrier management strategy. This will include assessing carrier performance and effectively dealing with all carrier queries
  • Dealing with all contract maintenance for a specified group of consumers
  • Managing all consumer bookings by applying these to sales and arranging deliveries by working with the relevant members of the wider team
  • Ensure any received claims are managed and recorded correctly and accurately
  • Ensuring all sale contracts are moved in line with contract periods or agreeing a proactive course of action if this isn’t possible
  • Ensure the correct haulage rate is always applied
  • Understanding the bulk tipper market and gaining feedback from potential new hauliers.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience within a similar role within the transport and/or agricultural sector
  • Previous transport planning experience is desirable
  • Experience to think commercially and ideally
  • Strong negotiation skills to enable you to negotiate and purchase 3rd party haulage
  • Good attention to detail, is thorough, and accurate, with excellent time-keeping skills
  • Confidence and ability to work effectively with multiple internal stakeholders as part of an efficient and committed team.
  • A proactive approach to learning, development, and continuous improvement.
  • Own transport as this is a rural location not served by public transport.
