Michelle Rawlins

Having worked in a customer service role for 10 plus years and Education for 10 years, inspired by our children, Thomas and Jacob, Nick and I incorporated Jacob Thomas Associates in 2007 to provide a workplace that develops all.

The team are a delight to work alongside and would probably say that I am focused, driven and determined with high expectations, however, has a good, maybe dry sense of humour, is supportive, encouraging and always needs a cup of tea in hand.

I love the outdoors so gardening and hiking are a passion. Before the big “50” I would like to complete the coast to coast walk, following Wainwrights footsteps. I enjoy researching the history, culture and differing architecture of the countries I visit whilst travelling. For relaxation, reading a good book or watching the latest box office movie is a must and ‘if the hips allow’ a jolly good boogie.

2020 Update

Team JTA entered 2020 with strategic intent to grow and develop Teams to have greater inter-dependancy, our plan was simple but effective and the strategy was on track throughout the bulk of the first quarter.

The 23rd March 2020 saw dramatic change, driving intense focus and challenge on the business and our brilliant Team.  Whilst there is no good time for a pandemic, for us at least, we had already commenced the process of greater core skills evaluation including departmental accountability with our Leadership Team and the challenge they faced could never be replicated in any classroom, it was their time to stand up….. And boy did they stand up…. They Shone!!  

Never before have we displayed such positivity, grit and determination to do the right thing by our Workers, Candidates and Clients which has been recognised by so many people, organisations and customers; during difficult times this has provided immense core strength.

Reaffirmation of our business model has been achieved, so many of our clients, new, old and prospective, who were previously serviced by multi-site operations have commented on the consistency of Service throughout distressing and difficult times, which drives us even further forward.

The one thing, if anything, I have learnt throughout this period is that, we really are ‘working towards a brighter future’… for ALL!

 

Joining the Recruitment Industry back in 1997, I spent the first ten years learning my trade and sometimes having to learn the hard way!  My early career saw me get the sack, move companies for career progression and  being made redundant (not all at the same time, fortunately!), so I’ve had a fairly good exposure into other Recruitment Businesses and the pressures put on people in our Industry.

My redundancy was the catalyst to incorporate JTA and with ten years of working for different companies I was able to take the best bits from the companies I worked with and equally do as much as possible to remove some elements that just didn’t work for me. The primary aim right from the start has been to develop and empower at all levels within the business, which is quite unique within the Industry.

The company name by the way comes from our (Michelle and I) two sons.  It seemed the best motivator at the time and still encapsulates our company ethos today, this being one family.

In my spare time I can usually be found in a field with my spaniel and regardless of the weather, donning a pair of wellies!

Being part of the JTA journey has been one of the most inspiring, adventurous and challenging milestones in my career. The commitment, care and drive each employee shows is echoed throughout the business to Director level. Our clients, candidates and employees are what make Jacob Thomas Associates the business we are today!
Over 5 years’ experience, I specialise within Permanent, Interim and Contract Recruitment. Collaborating and working in partnership with our client-base and candidates to ensure a bespoke and personal service is delivered to each. 
The training, development and opportunities that have been presented to me during my time at JTA have assisted with my continuous development as a Consultant, a Leader and now a Manager. We pride ourselves in providing our teams with the tools, training and support they need to ensure our clients receive a truly unique service. 
During the Coronavirus Pandemic we have continued to put our customers and clients at the forefront of all we do. Providing support, guidance and solutions to the challenges they have faced throughout the lockdown. Offering 24/7 contact has allowed a great deal of our clients to find that reassurance that so many have been seeking. Sharing our knowledge, experience and insights to assist with their business recovery. We have adopted and rolled out new methods to ensure our clients have been able to continue business whilst ensuring compliant with government guidelines. 
Here at JTA we really do believe ‘We’re Stronger Together!’ We are half way through Quarter 2 and our Business Objectives have evolved, like many businesses however one thing we will continue and will always do, Is be there for you, our clients and our candidates!

I commenced working for Jacob Thomas Associates in June 2015 and have always enjoyed the variety of what each day brings within my role. The time invested and training provided has set me up to be successful in providing expert customer service and ability to create recruitment solutions for the industrial and commercial businesses across the region. 
During these unprecedented times we are proud to continue to serve our customers, adapting alternative recruiting methods to ensure customer satisfaction and safety remains our top priority. From the first instance of COVID 19 being a threat to businesses across the country it was clear that our customers needed an extra level of support and reassurance. With so much cast into doubt it’s important for our customers to feel continued support despite the changes being brought in with working from home and social distancing. Our values remain the same, ensuring we are contactable 24/7 and to maintain the outstanding service which has ensured our success for the last 13 years. Working towards a brighter future for us and our customers is our passion.
When I’m not head down focussing on the next customer to serve I spend the rest of my time with my Fiancé Sarah and homeschooling our three children Noah, Barney and Blossom (Although I feel they now know more about the recruitment industry than the school curriculum at present).

Having been with Jacob Thomas since conception it’s now been 12 great years! I came from a long career within commercial aviation where customer service was paramount and can honestly say that the level of service Jacob Thomas provides its customers far exceeds that of which I was accustomed to in previous years. From the outset it was clear that the vision for the business was to provide the very best of everything it was involved in and this was truly refreshing. Watching the company grow from strength to strength, having been on the journey all the way, and seeing the Jacob Thomas family grow is incredible! 
I guess I would be described as someone with a mischievous sense of humour. I like to look at the positive things in life and love spending time with my family and friends. Being an Aussie I take great pride in showing all the Brits the true meaning of the word BBQ!!

I commenced working with JTA back in 2010 after being a chef for 15 years.  This was a big career move and change of scenery after moving back to Leicester from Warwickshire.
I find working at Jacob Thomas Associates fun, exciting and a new challenge everyday, from starting in the payroll department I have been given the opportunity to progress through to a full consultant. I was awarded with the Temp controller of the year for how I control and speak to my temporary staff.
Outside of work I enjoy Formula 1, especially a big fan of Ayton Senna who changed the sport forever. I also enjoy films and anything investigative (NCIS,CSI). My friends would consider me to be a good laugh and always up for going out to music festivals.

I joined JTA’s Permanent Division in 2018 as a Resourcer after graduating from university. Since then I have had the opportunity to progress within the company as well as being enrolled onto fantastic training courses to further my professional development.
Each day at JTA brings something new, with a fantastic client base and candidates who are an absolute pleasure to work with. We work in a close-knit, friendly environment which cultivates a real sense of camaraderie, and our drive towards quality and continuous improvement is something that really makes me proud to be a part of the JTA family.
I’m generally described as being rather dry-humoured with a penchant for witty (at least I think so) remarks. In my spare time I enjoy reading, creative writing and taking my golden retriever for long walks.”

I have just commenced work at JTA, and I am revelling in the challenge of a new job, and a complete change in career path. For the past 5 years I have worked in customer service, both after and alongside my studies. I have began my role as a Trainee Consultant, and my personal goal is to progress to a Junior and then Consultant, in hopefully not too long of a time. So I am still the new guy in the office and looking to make my way up the JTA ladder.
In my spare time, I am always listening to music, in particular the US Rappers J Cole who I recently went to see live, Action Bronson, and UK Rappers Slowthai and Jhus. Football is also a passion of mine, despite not being great at it myself! I am an ex Man Utd season ticket holder, with a soft spot for the Foxes, of course!

Since the beginning I’ve been working in the payroll department and feeling satisfied in this position.
The priority for me is always to send the right amount to the right account.

After completing my ‘A’ Levels, I was in a quandary if to study at University.  After careful consideration and a long Summer, I was given the opportunity to join the family business.
