Job Title: Accounts Assistant Manager

Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 per annum plus excellent benefits

Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday – Days

Location: Nottingham

Our client are a leading provider of professional services including accountancy and auditing, tax planning, funding and asset finance to a range of businesses throughout the UK. Due to continued, planned growth they are seeking to appoint an Accounts Assistant Manager to their Nottingham office.

The Accounts Assistant Manager Role:

  • Review an accounts working file and associated tax computations.
  • Produce an accounts summary and a list of discussion points for the manager or partner.
  • Work within a budget agreed at the planning stage.
  • Produce draft tax computations and a provision for inclusion in the accounts.
  • Inclusion of statutory disclosures in line with the company checklist.
  • You will be expected to professionally represent the firm and its interests in dealings with clients and other professionals.
  • You will be expected to attend training to further develop and maintain your technical skills and if not yet attained to work towards a professional qualification.
  • You will be expected to supervise and help develop more junior members of staff.
  • Communicating clearly with clients on key topics affecting them as well as future legislative changes and the impact this may have on their business
  • You will be expected to contact clients in connection with non-technical issues such as the collection of debtors and be involved on an ongoing basis in administrative activities such as billing.
  • You will be expected to plan and control your professional work for the firm’s clients within the firm’s standard procedures. You will be able to identify basic planning opportunities.
  • You will be expected to identify and act upon any opportunities you see within the professional work you do to sell more services to existing prospective clients.

Our Ideal Candidate;

  • Previous experience in a similar role, ideally with practice experience
  • ACA/ACCA qualified with proven practice experience (QBE will be considered)
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise a number of jobs across all portfolios, whilst demonstrating excellent time management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
  • Display commercial awareness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using IRIS and MyWorkPapers is preferred but is not essential.
