Job Title: Service Engineer

Salary: £35,000 to £42,000 per annum plus benefits

Shift Pattern: Monday – Friday days with some unsocial hours

Location: North West England


Our client, the UK’s leading provider of resilient and energy-efficient critical physical infrastructure and utility services from the desktop to the server room to the data centre for a range of public sector, SME, and corporate clients throughout the UK and Europe is seeking a Service Engineer to join their team.

The Role:

  • Attend sites as required to service UPS and power and cooling efficiency equipment carrying out small works projects or remedial works together with system upgrade works if required.
  • Complete fault diagnosis and rectification on the whole range of UPS/BMS and similar equipment.
  • Identify potential systems software and hardware issues that may lead to unnecessary failure of services, thereby minimising risk, disruption, and inconvenience to building users.
  • To be able to fault find and if capable, carry out control panel modifications and installations as required.
  • To advise clients on potential improvements and recommendations for their system.
  • To attend call outs and breakdowns as required.
  • To submit daily service reports detailing works carried out and any recommendations or remedial items needed, ensuring part numbers, time required, and any other relevant information is provided to enable the administration team to produce the required quotation.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Knowledge and experience from within the UPS/BMS/Power Electronics sectors or similar.
  • Engineering knowledge with the ability to understand engineering drawings and terminology.
  • A passion for building strong client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region including some unsocial hours.
  • Full UK driving licence.
